(QNA) - HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Wahed Al-Hammadi held meetings with Swedish Minister for Upper Secondary School and Adult Education and Training Anna Ekstrom, and Swedish Minister of Higher Education and Research Helen Hallmark Knutson.
At two separate meetings in Stockholm, they discussed mutual cooperation in education, training and innovation in education as well as means to support and promote them. HE Al-Hammadi was briefed on the Swedish experience in the field of public education and higher education.
They also discussed cooperation in the fields of higher education and scientific research and how to benefit from the pioneering experiences and experiences of the two countries in these fields.
During his visit to the Kingdom of Sweden, His Excellency also discussed a draft memorandum of understanding between the two countries in the fields of higher education and scientific research and the need to complete procedures for its signing as soon as possible. This will open new horizons for cooperation between institutions and bodies concerned with higher education and scientific research in both countries, in addition to the exchange of experiences and best practices.
HE the Minister was also briefed on the progress of Swedish education system, including the methods used to teach people with special needs in various disabilities. In this context, he made field visits to many educational and academic institutions. He gave also a detailed presentation to the officials of Karolinska Institutet on the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and its future plans in various educational aspects in light of the State's support for education.
