​Second Phase to Select Students Candidates for Qatar School of Science and Technology Concludes

(QNA) - The second phase set by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to select the students candidates to enroll in Qatar School of Science and Technology has concluded. 

The phase included a training program in cooperation with Score Plus Qatar, a specialized educational institution. 

The students were trained on the most important mathematical and scientific skills in mathematics and science, higher thinking skills, critical thinking and analysis. 

A final test was conducted on the skills gained over the last five weeks to select the successful candidates based on the test results and individual reports issued for each student. 

The third and final phase will be the personal interview, after which 60 students who have achieved all the criteria in the training programs related to science, mathematics and English will be selected. 

In press remarks, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Ms. Fawziah Al-Khater said that each phase of the selection process included skills and knowledge to help all students enhance their skills and complete their academic excellence throughout their educational career. 

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education completed the first phase of the training program for Qatari students candidates for Qatar School of Science and Technology in early April. 

The Qatar School of Science and Technology is scheduled to open at the beginning of the academic year 2018/2019. It is a secondary school for boys includes grades 9 to 12. The students candidates will be selected from the eighth grade students who are excellent in science and mathematics. 

The school aims at providing a high level of education based on the integration in the scientific materials, and in line with the development of the education sector in developed countries, in order to graduate students have the scientific basis that ensures enrollment in the top universities in the world.
