The admission percentage for students born in Qatar is (20%). The Ministry's registration and admission policy shall apply.
Admission will be governed by the Ministry's current registration and admission policy.
Female students will be accepted based on the geographical scope of Doha. Parents who wish to transfer their girls from beyond Doha must undertake to secure transportation for them. The school will provide sufficient number of school buses, which will cover the geographical scope of Doha only.

Studies have shown that technical (vocational) education enhances the technical skills, knowledge and productivity of young adults and, thereby, their opportunities of appropriate employment. It is rather a key element in achieving sustainable development, which, in turn, will contribute to the fulfilment of Qatar National Vision 2030. Based on this, the Ministry has decided to open the technical secondary school for girls.This new school, named 'Technical Secondary School for Girls', will boost the labor market with highly qualified academically and technically qualified female cadres that meet the required needs.

The awarded certificates make students eligible to join universities and higher education colleges both locally and internationally. Also, they can move to the labor market directly or join technical colleges and universities.
Who can apply for the technical school?
Registration for the Technical Secondary School is available for female students who are Qatari nationals, children of Qatari mothers or Qatar born. This will be governed by the Ministry's relevant admission policy. Study in the school starts form grade 10 onwards.

A student with
disability must be subjected to comprehensive assessment at Roua Centre for
Assessment, Support and Couneling in order to identify his needs and determine the appropriate educational program (integration schools, support schools or specialized schools such as Al-Hidaya).
If the students capabilities and needs are appropriate for the Ministry's schools, he/she will be placed in the matching school through the department of Special Education and Gifted Care, in coordination with the School Affairs Department.

When does enrollment of students start in private schools, and is the registration period limited to a specific date?
The registration for
the academic year starts from the beginning of March of each year until
mid-October of the same year, and any registration after the mentioned period
will require the approval of the Private Schools Licensing Department.
Do different educational systems in private schools have the same admission and registration requirements, or does each system have its own requirements?
How can students attest their school certificates if decided to transfer to a different education system at secondary levels?
The admission process for secondary school students may be affected by the school curriculum and the general examination system used in the school. For example, a student who must be admitted from an age point of view at the thirteenth level may be placed at the twelfth level if he registered for the A level exam and did not study the first year program of this level because the A program has a two-year course. Therefore, students and parents, especially Qataris, must collect sufficient information and data about the system to which the student will be transferred,
and ensure that the subjects the student will study qualify him to obtain a
high school completion certificate from the Certificates Equivalency Section.
How can you make sure that schools enroll students according to grades appropriate to their levels and ages?
The school cannot
register any student except through the student registration system in the
Ministry or the student database. The Ministry of Education and Higher
Education will follow up to ensure schools adhere to these guidelines and
instructions. Schools that do not adhere to these instructions may face
penalties as a result.
What are the documents required for school registration?
No, it is not
permissible to register any student without a personal identification number
from the Ministry of Interior in Qatar. Therefore, we would like to make it
clear to schools and parents that it is not permissible to register any student
who entered the country with a visit visa less than a year.
Do students coming from abroad need to attest their certificates?
No need to attest school certificates by the Certificates Equivalency Department for students coming from abroad. However, the student's certificates and supporting documents issued by the previous school are referred to in order for the receiving school to assess the student's level. In addition, schools can use the educational systems comparison table to determine the appropriate class for the student. As for Qatari students coming from schools outside the State of Qatar, their diploma must be attested by the certificates equivalency department. Students of other nationalities coming from schools outside the State of Qatar, will not be obligated to certify their certificates from the Certificate Equivalency Department, but their certificates must be notarized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The
school must refer to the student’s certificates and documents issued by the
previous school. In addition to the school’s assessment of the student’s level
by referring to the educational systems equivalency table to determine the
appropriate class for the student.
Does a student need to attest his certificate from the previous school if he transfers from a private school to a public school?
Yes, the public
school has to make sure that the previous certificates from the private school
were subject to validation and equivalence according to the system in force in
the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in order to place the student in
the appropriate class level according to the recommendations of the Certificate
Parents can transfer
their children between private schools without the need to obtain permission
from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. However, there must be vacancies at the
appropriate academic level or the appropriate age at the receiving school. The
Ministry’s database doesn’t allow a student to register in more than one
school, hence the parent must submit a written approval from the new school to
Ministry to update the student’s record in the database and finalize the

Schools are required
to adhere to the specified capacity of that school and not register any student
over the specified number without obtaining approval from the Private School
Licensing Department. The student
database system will not accept the registration of any students above the permitted

What are educational vouchers? Who are eligible for the vouchers program?
Qatari students, who are enrolled in accredited private schools, are eligible for school vouchers. The total value of the grant is QAR28,000 which can cover part or full tuition fees. The vouchers are paid twice a year; at the beginning of the academic year and the second installment in January of the same academic year. To be eligible for voucher system, the student's parent should submit a letter from his employer stating that he does not receive any educational allowance.
