​QNCECS Holds National Preparatory Forum on Education Beyond 2015

(QNA) - His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Abdul Wahed Al-Hammadi, the Minister of Education and Higher Education and Chairman of the Qatari National Committee for Education, Culture and Science (QNCECS), has lauded Qatar's effective contribution to education for all and in support of the children of the world through providing educational and training services.
Addressing the National Preparatory Forum on Education Beyond 2015 which was held here today by the National Committee for education, culture and science, HE the Minister Dr. Al Hamadi also praised the initiatives of HH Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser in Education Above All.
HE the Minister said the "despite population growth and high rates of immigration into Qatar. However, we do not have a child out of school," adding that the State of Qatar has absorbed all the students and provides them with high-quality education and attractive school environment.
For her part, Dr. Hamda Hassan Al-Sulaiti, Secretary-General of the National Committee for Education, Culture and Science gave an overview of the education for all and the steps undertaken by the State of Qatar in the six goals of education for all, and a number of challenges, including early childhood care basic education (primary, elementary, secondary), youth and adult literacy, life skills, policy and planning, governance, coordination and partnerships, funding and follow-up, monitoring and accountability.
The Forum aims at gathering the views of national partners about the proposed education plan goals beyond 2015 from the perspective of national challenges and priorities in education as well as requirements for the implementation of the education plan and review ideas about national standards for each objective, in preparation for the preparatory meeting of the regional Conference on education beyond 2015, to be held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt from 27 to 29 January.
The Forum was attended by representatives of the Office of the United Nations Educational, scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Doha and the Supreme Education Council and partners.
