Ministry of Education, Qatar Red Crescent Sign Cooperation Agreement

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education and Qatar Red Crescent signed a cooperation agreement to implement an awareness training program within the school’s Red Crescent program.

The agreement was signed by HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Rabeea Mohammed Al-Kaabi, and Qatar Red Crescent Secretary General Ali bin Hassan Al-Hammadi. The program, which is implemented by Qatar Red Crescent, aims to protect the school and local community, build a conscious and qualified generation to deal with risks and accidents, first aid, promote the concept of social integration and invest youth energy in training programs and courses that support the educational process. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education said that the ministry is keen to provide school students not only knowledge and different sciences, but also life skills required to build a generation aware and able to deal with different circumstances, noticing that the school’s Red Crescent program focuses on the development of awareness in the fields of relief and medical affairs, integration and social peace, providing students and teachers first aid principles and other skills that will benefit them in their working lives. He also praised the efforts of Qatar Red Crescent in the field of awareness and training.

For his part, the Secretary-General of Qatar Red Crescent, praised the partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, which emphasizes the strengthening of the vision of social responsibility, because of its role in raising awareness and understanding among students, stressing that the school Red Crescent program is ambitious and purposeful. 

He also considered the program as a training development project aimed to train and qualify students, teachers and administrators in the areas of permanent preparedness for disaster and accident response, risk reduction, first aid, health education and the dissemination of a culture of social peace and acceptance of the other. The program targets the school community from the preparatory stage of students, teachers, and education staff. The two partners are looking to train 25 thousand students in public and foreign schools, in addition to 3,000 teachers and educational administrators.
