Department of Nurseries of the Private Education Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE), is responsible for managing, licensing, supervising, and overseeing nurseries.

The nursery stage is dedicated to caring for children in the State of Qatar who are not more than four years old. In providing the child with the necessary skills, preparing him educationally, socially, psychologically and cognitively, instilling in him a number of authentic values, and preparing children for the practices of daily routine and formal learning, so the child acquires basic skills through several gains, through playing inside and outside the nursery building and activity rooms, such as learning skills that promote the growth of large and small muscles, and cognitive skills,  Communication skills,  such as: sitting in the  right place, listening, respecting, and  cooperating with peers, and this would lead  to accustoming  children to adapt to  different atmospheres and environments, so they feel comfortable, focused and ready to learn better.

In addition to teaching children the fundamentals of education found in later school stages, like language and math, nursery also helps them explore their interests, discover their strengths, and practice active learning through engaging, enjoyable, and stimulating activities. All of these things contribute to the development of a love of learning in young children.
